Welcome to Beyond the Elm. Beyond the Elm is the online chronicles of a Louisiana family who homeschools and their many adventures. We are a family whose mission is guided by the Cajun French phrase, “de bon coeur – joie de vivre” -TO LIVE LIFE FULLY, DEEPLY, AND WHOLEHEARTEDLY. We encourage our children to be lively and discerning thinkers, and we preserve and celebrate their unique personalities and learning styles. The lessons we learn as a family, go beyond any curriculum or text. We nurture our children’s ability to listen, reflect, articulate, delight, serve, and to find beauty in the mundane – because we believe these are tools for a thoughtful life and a rich future.
