We have lived here for over a year…and it is still coming together! But our yard really does have some great shape to it and some lovely details (aka: pool). The girls have been swimming for a few days, Lance never stopped swimming this winter, and I think today is my day!
Women in Aviation
This was such a great experience! I highly recommend it. One girl got to be the co-pilot and the other videoed the whole thing.
Homeschool and Co-ops
We have been part of the same co-op for the last 2 years. The girls (and boy) love it. The learn about geography, literature, science experiments, etc… and most importantly they are gaining the joy of friendships!
Chinese New Year
Today we learned about the Chinese New Year at Vinh Phat in Baton Rouge.
Bible Journaling
I am really enjoying Bible Journaling.
Patience is a virtue. A virtue that this vulnerable mommy, wife, friend, daughter, sister very often lacks! So, when you start to journal and study the gifts of the Spirit and you are in deep thought about “love being patient”…what happens? You are interrupted by life (in my case, this morning, my children). I learned long ago not to pray for patience because he will give you something to be patient about…So, why not be clever and just study patience? Yet still, the interruption came…and I quickly snapped! How dare them interrupt my time in the Word! My guilt surfaced and then reached deep into my core…the very virtue which I was studying- Oh, how I failed! So, I apologized, gave the girls a short Bible lesson and a lesson into imperfection…Then, I cooked them Keto Pancakes, which they couldn’t get enough of… By the power of the Holy Spirit, I am abound by hope and…I will begin again to PRAY for patience (not just study it). I recognize my imperfection, but in this area, I will overcome! Happy humpday!

Nature Study
Since it is supposed to rain tomorrow, we did our nature study today. We learned about and painted the woodpecker. Kbug also participated.

Today is for Exploring!
As everyday should be… Kbug is kinda bummed in this picture because he could only fin one of his rubber boots.
Estes Park, Colorado
Oh what a trip. Estes Park is one of my favorite places, Historic Crags Lodge, Rocky Mountain National Park, Old Fashioned Georgetown Christmas complete with roasted chestnuts…sledding, snowshoeing (Alberta Falls), winery tour and wine tasting, 7 mile hike through a snowy wonderland (Bear Lake), hot chocolate, s’mores, and checkers by the campfire. We bought a wildlife book and took it along on the trails so that we could identify Elk, Mule Deer, Magpie, Stellar Jay, etc. So, glad we bought the book. It really heightened the connection with the critters that we encountered. What an experience!
