A letter from camp

One of the best letters I have ever received! My girl may never be a perfect speller because of her dyslexia, but she will not let that define her! She is beautiful, smart, witty, clever, creative, logical, organized, my check-list child, and an entrepreneur at heart! AND, trust me… she is going places! She knows who she is, and Whose she is! And I couldn’t be prouder of her… But geez, that signature… Isn’t that a little vain? 😜

Art is In Camp

The girls did a great job tonight! They said the camp staff assigned roles based on personality. Isabella was a hotel manager, equipped with a clipboard… And Riley was always ready serve, as a bellhop! Spot on!

2018-2019 School Year

This year our girls will attend BASIS Baton Rouge.  The BASIS charter school system has a great performance reputation elsewhere, so we decided to give it a shot for their introductory year in Baton Rouge.

The girls will be in 4th and 5th grade, and will have 3 recesses, jiu jitsu or PE every day, drama, music, engineering, Mandarin, and the core subjects.  They will be enrolled in 4th and 5th/6th grade math.

Will see if it is the right fit for us.  Regardless, this school will be a great asset to the Baton Rouge community!

Entrepreneurship and Giving Back!

The girls set up a lemonade stand at a local Art Hop to earn money and to give back.  They didn’t only sell lemonade, they also sold bracelets and bookmarks that they crafted from Popsicle sticks.  They even provided hula hoops and sidewalk chalk for visitor.  They came up with the ideas, and executed them beautifully.  Part of their proceeds to MDA. Proud Momma moment.

Art Project

Girls’ first cedar stump mosaic. Now we just need to let it dry, seal it, apply teak oil, and find it a place in the garden or on the patio. They did a great job.
