Stuffed mushrooms for tomorrow and spaghetti sauce for the freezer. They did great!

Merry Christmas from the Kings. This Christmas still doesn’t even feel like Christmas… Perhaps it is the exhaustion… The new baby… Living between two houses… One of the kids being states away… Not every day is easy but every day is worth it…though most posts on Fac
ebook are happy smiley faces, we all know life is not always just peachy… Even though life is hectic for us right now… And we may walk into a room and forget what we went in there for in the first place… Or we fail to finish a conversation because of interruptions by a fussy baby… we are blessed to have one another and are thankful to be Celebrating our Saviors birth…may this happy picture and those our friends post of their families be a continuous reminder of the blessings that are right in front of us…even through life’s struggles. Life is good… All the time… MERRY Christmas!
Two weeks… and still in love! The girls have been great at knowing and accepting that the babies needs comes before their wants. Now if only I had a volume control button. It does help to kick them o
utside so they can play in their early Christmas present. Daddy and mommy got a kinda fixer upper in mid city for Christmas… And so did the kids. Back to the old hood… Adjusting, yet enjoying city life and old/new friends.

Better late than never… Not our traditional Christmas tree.. But the girls enjoyed making paper and jingle bell ornaments… And Kbug said we could decorate with his blanket. Majority of our Christmas traditions will be a little different this year, but the reason we celebrate Christmas will still be at our center. Merry Christmas!
The article below shows so much perspective on life… and the story is one that I have already heard twice this week. I never knew many of the details – only the small details that Lance would take home from Ruthie’s husband, Mike, while on shift at the fire station. Community is something that we have been searching for for a long time… and we too have moved around locally and not so locally to find what “community” means to us as a family and as individuals- and we are blessed to say that we finally feel at home (even when things fall apart around us) – We are strong… we are family… and we have roots here… and we are making the commitment to grow these roots deeper – so that our girls may grow up with a firm foundation.

The school room just needs a few little touch ups…then, it is time to move in. Though the sheetrock in the dining room won’t be back up before Christmas, once we can move into the school room, we will gain a hallway, dining room, a bedroom and a school room. Amazing how much more room we will have from just enclosing an 8×16 porch. Here is a a sneak peak of one of my favorite touches of the room. Getting excited to finish!
As one day is ending and another one is about to begin… I am feeling really blessed! Today, we made a lot of progress on the school room; the girls were the best listeners and VERY loving sisters; we took a breather and played with baby goats; I have a clean kitchen; and NO dirty laundry (and only 2 loads to fold tomorrow)… So, tomorrow – I may work on the school room by my lonesome for a little while – but most of my day will be spent just spending time with my little girls! SWEET! I remember when I was in elementary/middle school -I got the biggest kick out of this little bird on some computer program (this was back when there pretty much was only Apple computers- you know, the Carmen San Diego/Oregon Trail days?) – Well, the boy sitting next to me, said something along the lines “you must be really simple minded because it doesn’t take much to make your day”… well, I would say that today was nothing out of the ordinary – (except for the no dirty laundry part) – but most everything about today, makes me smile and look forward to tomorrow. So, the insight into Erin from the boy that sat next to me in grade school, was dead on!
The girls are so gentle with Little Jon, and the 2 brand new kids! Best break from painting the school room! We REALLY need to finish this “school room”… Lance and I broke out in a Queen Bohemian Rhapsody duet today! Paint fumes.. paint fumes! Glad to get out into the fresh air with these awesome “kids”!
